How to Choose a Mentor for You

How to Choose a Mentor

Why do you need a mentor?

Starting your own business is tough. You need someone there to help you steer a good course through the important decisions you will have to make as you plan, start and develop your business.

With a good mentor, you have someone who can help you with their experience. A good mentor will take a dispassionate view of you and your business decisions and challenge you. Your mentor will ask you difficult questions, not to demean you but to make you think. Have you made a decision which supports your strategy or tactics to make more contacts, sales or money?

Mentoring is often misunderstood and that often comes down to not having the right mentor. Some decide not to have a mentor help them with their business because they don’t understand the benefits of a mentor.

How to choose a mentor?

There are some great articles about how to choose a mentor for you. Here are two articles about choosing a mentor – see what you think of them:

Business News Daily’s article – How to choose a Mentor

Huffington Posts article – 5 Questions to ask before choosing a mentor

Once you have checked out the articles, I suggest you think about writing down the values you would like in your mentor. See what you can find out about them and make sure that your values fit with their values. Because even if this person is extremely successful and your values don’t match, then you won’t feel happy about working with them. Without matching or similar values will cause confusion for you.

Choosing a mentor

If you have checked out my previous blogs, and you have decided that Network Marketing is the right business model for you, then the great thing about it is that this business model gives you full support when starting your own business. You don’t have to worry about being on your own and fending for yourself.

I have been working this model for over 10 years now. In those years, I have proven how successful you can be. If you are looking for a mentor who has lots of experience, not only in this business model, but also in mentoring people and building people’s confidence, then I would love to hear from you. It would good to see if we could work together.
